The Dialysis Home Hemo RN Manager is key to leading the Home Dialysis Program to ensure every patient receives the safest care with the highest quality optimal outcomes. The RN Manager is responsible for overseeing the supervision of all nursing personnel.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements standards of care, providing patient care in accordance with ESRD Network, regulatory agencies, DCI’s CQI program and the individual clinic’s requirements.
Coordinates the implementation of the DCI, CQI and Risk Management Programs with the Quality and Risk Manager.
Collaborates with the Medical Director, Social Worker, Dietitian, Charge Nurses, Technical Managers, Staff Nurses and Technicians on any problem of patient care including selection of modality.
Actively encourages and helps maintain open and positive communication between staff, administration, physicians and patients.
Coordinates with the Technical Manager the maintenance and repair of all equipment.
Assist patient care staff, staff nurses, and Home Training Coordinator to carry out functions and activities expected of them, and substitutes for personnel on an “as needed” basis.
Acts a liaison between dialysis unit and the hospital on the patients’ behalf to ensure continuity of care.
Reviews patient data in accordance with ESRD Network criteria identifying problems and formulating corrective action plans.
Participates in patient care conferences, medical rounds and reviewing charts.
Follows CDC/CMS regulations with strict reinforcement of infection control.
Supervisory Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; scheduling, and directing work; performance reviews; disciplinary actions; resolving problems in coordination with the Area Operations Director.
Qualifications
Must maintain current license as a Registered Nurse
Two years’ experience in PD required and experience in home hemodialysis is preferred
One year experience in a supervisory role required
