The Medical Secretary ensures policies and procedures related to medical records are developed and followed.

Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours @ 5 days/week

Compensation : Pay range depending on nursing and dialysis experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops policies to ensure completeness and security of the medical record and information contained within

  • Helps maintain statistics such as hospital rates, mortality rates, etc.

  • May file medical records in the physical chart, thin records, and prepare for storage

  • Assist with completing surveys, such as network surveys

  • Acts as a liaison between the facility and the network for data reporting

  • Ensures the medical record is documented, completed, and maintained in accordance with accepted professional standards and practices

  • Ensures the medical record contains pertinent patient information and the information is easily retrievable

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • One to three months related experience and/or training

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Processing.
