Founded in 1971, Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) remains the nation’s largest non-profit dialysis provider. With a team of approximately 5,000 talented and caring employees serving across the United States, DCI provides care to nearly 15,000 patients on dialysis and 3,500 patients with chronic kidney disease. We offer a variety of services including in-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis (PD). The Social Work Assistant provides the Social Workers with assistance in various areas, and also provides coverage for the Unit Secretary in her absence or with special projects. A general knowledge of medical insurance is helpful, but not mandatory. Comfort level in a medical setting is preferred.

Assist patients with accessing transportation to and from dialysis treatments using such resources as MassHealth, The Ride, and local town resources.
Admitting patients to the clinic by verifying their insurance coverage via the Company’s billing group, assisting patients with signing consent forms, and entering demographic information into company’s data base
Assisting patients when they want to travel: help patient identify dialysis care near where they will be staying; work to help secure and schedule dialysis treatments at the patient’s destination during the time they will be away.
Assist the Social Workers with annual and quarterly reports as they are scheduled in the data base. This involves checking the schedule in the data base, bringing questionnaires to patients, and retrieving the questionnaires in a timely fashion.
Organizing tubes and requisition slips for monthly tissue typing.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
Familiarity with a computer and Microsoft Office programs, preferred .
