Dialysis Clinic, Inc. Laboratory Director in Nashville, Tennessee
The DCI Transplant Immunology Laboratory has an opening for an exceptional candidate to join our team as a Laboratory Director. DCI, Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit organization. Our ASHI accredited laboratory provides histocompatibility testing and support for Tennessee Donor Services, (one of the nation’s busiest Organ Procurement Organizations) as well as dynamic solid organ and stem cell transplant programs throughout Tennessee.
Working closely with the Director and management team, the applicant will be responsible for all aspects of daily laboratory operations (clinical, technical, personnel, quality assurance, financial), clinical and technical direction of new assays/methodologies validation and implementation, and development of clinical research collaborative projects. A key aspect of this position is participation in our on-call clinical rotation schedule (which includes responsibilities for deceased donor HLA typing interpretation, virtual crossmatch prediction, physical crossmatch interpretation, clinical consultation and STAT donor specific antibody analysis).
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong technical background and HLA “bench” experience. ABHI Diplomate status and ASHI Certification (or eligibility) as a Laboratory Director in HSC/BM: Related Donor; HSC/BM: Unrelated Donor; Solid Organ Transplantation: Deceased Donor, Solid Organ Transplantation: Live Donor and Histocompatibility Testing for Other Purposes are required.
Ph.D. or M.D. degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years of Immunology and 2 years of Human Histocompatibility training.
Board certified or eligible in either Histocompatibility, Immunology or Clinical Pathology.
Certification by the ASHI DTRC as a Histocompatibility Laboratory Director or able to achieve this certification within one year.
State of Tennessee Clinical Laboratory Director License must be obtained prior to employment.
Legally eligible to work in the United States; the position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Strong background in molecular biology techniques including NGS, PCR, real-time PCR, solid phase assays, flow cytometry and engraftment monitoring.
